GWR Route: Hatton to Bearley and Alcester Branch

GWR 48xx Class 0-4-2T No 4801 assembles a mixed train at Bearley's up platform before working through to Alcester. Behind the Collett 48xx class locomotive is the Alcester Auto Trailer. The goods wagons would always be marshalled at the rear of the train, whereas the engine/auto trailer combination could operate in either direction. Thus this train would travel to Alcester with the engine sandwiched in the middle. No 4801 was allocated to Alcester between July 1936 – January 1938.
