Looking South towards Leamington with the bridge carrying the Midland Railways' Washwood Heath to Camp Hill line in the distance on 26th July 1929. The signal gantry controlled the routes south from the station and is different in construction to that seen in image 'gwrbg2275'. The left hand signals for the fast line, the central signals for relief road and the right single signal for the road to Small Heath goods sidings. The intensive traffic in this area of Birmingham compelled the GWR to build a separate goods line between Small Heath sidings and Moor Street goods yard.
