Close up of image 'gwrbj764' showing the fireman of the
0-4-2T engine letting the water flow in to the bunker by controlling the wheel
on the down pipe, an operation that had two minutes allocated on the route time
circa 1903. The timber cladding to the pipe was to prevent the pipe freezing up
in winter whilst the panel of corrugated iron behind was probable a form of
protection for the fireman against the elements. The signal in the background
is the Bearley Distance Signal seen in image 'gwrbj767'.
