GWR Route: Alcester to Hatton Junction
GWR Route: North Warwickshire Line
Bearley Junction: gwrbj805
Alcester was served by an Auto train, which shuttled up and
down the Branch six times a day. Four of these journeys terminated at Bearley
and two at Stratford. 70 auto trailers (Diagram T) originally built in
1911, provided the passenger accommodation from the reopening of the Branch in
1923, until final closure. After 1934 the motive power was normally a 48xx
class 0-4-2T engine. Here a 48xx class 0-4-2T and auto trailer No.76 can be
seen on the Branch approaching Edstone Aqueduct. C1937
