GWR 4-6-0 Castle class No 4092 'Dunraven Castle' pilots ex-GWR 4-6-0 Modified Hall No 6962 'Soughton Hall' whilst at the head of an up express service to Oxford and Paddington. Built at Swindon works in August 1925 No 4092 remained in service until December 1961 when it was withdrawn from Oxford shed to be scrapped in December 1961 at Swindon works. Modified Hall No 6962 was built at Swindon works in April 1944 and was to remain in service until January 1963 when it became the first Modified Hall class locomotive to be retired when withdrawn from Old Oak Common shed to be followed by being scrapped at Swindon works in May 1963.
