GWR Route: Alcester to Hatton Junction

Claverdon Station: gwrc905

View prior to doubling of the line showing the single track line towards Bearley from the road bridge. The point provides access to the goods loop and was controlled by a ground frame, which was unlocked using the single line tablet. This was the location of the second Claverdon station (see 'gwrc907', 'gwrc908' and 'gwrc924' which are future views from the same bridge). The new station was built and the line doubled in 1939. Notice the bridge abutments just beyond the point. This was all that remained after the west occupation bridge was removed in 1922. The abutments disappeared completely when the new station platforms were constructed.
