The station signs show that the general waiting room was part of the foyer within the booking office whilst next to it was the ladies waiting room. The parcels office also provided access to the cloak room which was often a euphemism for the ladies toilets. The gentlemen's toilet can be seen at the far end of the building. Another possible explanation for the relative substantial facilities at Earlswood Lake station was that in the early part of the twentieth century the area was promoted as a tourist destination because of its three lakes. An interesting detail is the cast iron down rainwater pipe which is both square in shape and recessed into the wall and also follows the outline of the kerb at the base of the wall.
