View from the down platform of Henley-in-Arden's new station being built and looking in the direction of Stratford on Avon in 1907. The station was opened to passengers on 1st July 1908 and whilst the original Henley-in-Arden station was closed and dedicated to goods traffic, passengers services from the new station continued using the branch line to Lapworth by using a short connecting spur to the branch line. The branch was temporarily closed as a wartime economy measure on 1st July 1915, with goods traffic similarly being withdrawn on 1st January 1916. It was then decided that the branch line be closed permanently as from 1st January 1917 and the rails and bridge girders were removed during May and June in 1917.
