Henley in Arden - New Station: gwrha1384a

Close up of image 'gwrha1384' showing the original junction with the spur to the branch line and the standard hip-roofed signal box controlling the station area. Opened on 9th December 1907 the signal box was equipped with a 57 lever frame. Its location was determined by being on the outside of the main line's curve between station and junction thereby offering the signalman maximum visibility. The road underbridge seen in the middle distance carried the railway over a farm track to Ullenhall.
