Henley in Arden - Original Station: gwrha1423

Looking towards Rowington Junction from the end of the station platform with the truncated branch line in the distance. When first built there were two sets of tracks passing to the right of the goods shed with the nearest one to the camera continuing on to the station and the other not only continuing on to the engine shed but acting as the run round loop to release the locomotive for the return journey. On the right is a timber framed shed with sliding doors set at a given distance apart - the distance between the doors of box vans when coupled together. The raised floor and heavy timbers underneath would seem to indicate that they were used to off-load goods heavy directly from wagons into the compartmentalised structure. They were used to store animal feed with planks laid between the box vans and the storage shed.
