GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Ex-GWR 49xx Class 4-6-0 No 6911 'Holker Hall' pilots an unknown ex-GWR 2-6-0 Mogul locomotive. The 2-6-0 locomotive was a pilot provided at Warwick to help lift the train up the bank. The GWR were alone of the big four to actually insert the extra locomotive in between the train engine and the coaches. Built by Swindon works to Lot 338 in January 1941, No 6911 was to remain in service until April 1965 when it was withdrawn from 2D Banbury shed to be scrapped by Birds of Long Marston.
