GWR 28xx Class 2-8-0 No 2840 is seen breasting Hatton Bank with a Class J intermediate stopping mineral train. Built by Swindon works in October 1912 No 2840 was to remain in service until June 1959 when it was withdrawn from 84J Croes Newydd shed to be scrapped by TW Ward of Killamarsh.
