GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

View from ground level of the tunnel which led under the railway to the passenger station circa 1967. The photographer is standing with the weigh bridge office just behind (see image 'gwrhd694'). The buildings on the right once accommodated some of the 200 plus horses stabled to assist both around the yard for shunting wagons as well delivering goods around the city. The remains of the short stubby canopies which were sited over each stable door can be seen.
