The goods sidings on the up line were quite significant being four lines in total and a 3 ton crane which indicated that the area generated a significant amount of traffic. The railway was able to compete for traffic until the impact of lorries was felt in earnest in the early-1950s although it still offered goods facilities until it closed on 6th May 1968.
