A 1938 Ordnance Survey map showing the 'contractors sidings' are still evident at Hall Green station. When compared to the earlier Ordnance Survey maps, the immediate surrounding area to Hall Green has seen a significant growth in housing reflecting the creation of Birmingham's commuter belt by the GWR and, elsewhere, by the LMS.
