GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Hatton Station: gwrhj1934

Looking towards Birmingham from the Warwick end of Hatton station's up platform in 1956. On the right is the large station nameboard advising passengers Hatton Junction for Bearley Alcester & Stratford on Avon. The closure of the Alcester branch had resulted in Alcester being blanked out. The refreshment room and other principle facilities were located in the brick building on the island platform and not, as was so often the case, in the building facing on to the station's main approach. The grounded body on the right was used as a bicycle store for passengers arriving at the station by bike, which until 1960 would have been the majority of passengers.
