Close up of image 'gwrls2165' showing the standard designed coal stage and water tank as viewed from the western side of the shed. The photograph shows the hardstanding on either side of the track adjacent to the point where the coal would be tipped into the tender or bunker. Between the rails is an inspection pit which would be used by crews to oil and grease the locomotives which had not been able to access the pits in front of the shed. The LNWR branch line to Rugby can be seen through the arch of the stage.
