Ex-GWR 4073 Class 4-6-0 No 5054 ' Earl of Ducie' is seen departing from Leamington's up platform in 1964. When first built by Swindon works to Lot 303 in June 1936, No 5054 was initially named 'Lamhrey Castle' but was renamed on 15th September 1937 which it retained until October 1964 when it was withdrawn from 85B Horton Road, Gloucester to be scrapped by Swindon works. Seen above with a Hawkesworth 4000 gallon tender, No 5054 had been paired with a Collet version for most of its working life but had, on three occasions been paired with the Hawkesworth version - April 1953 to March 1954; June 1960 to November 1960; and September 1962 until withdrawn. When scrapped it was to be the last Castle Castle Class locomotive to be scrapped by Swindon works.
