This building was not the structure that opened on 1st July 1909, this building was opened in 1914 as part of of the upgrading of the route between Tyseley and Moor Street. This part of the station was built above the LNWR and MR lines in to Birmingham New Street as seen on the map of the station. Moor Street was rebuilt with terminating platforms to accommodate the increased commuter services following the opening of the North Warwickshire line. This provided relief for traffic for Snow Hill which had to pass through the bottleneck of Snow Hill tunnel.
