GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Signalman Cecil Kendrick, seen on the left, and two colleagues inside Moor Street Signal Box. The signal box had 118 levers controlling the section to Birmingham South Signal Box in one direction and the section Bordesley North in the other direction. In addition, they were also responsible for all the movements into the goods and passenger stations. Cecil was borne in 1894 in Wilmcote which was near Stratford upon Avon, where in his GWR career he was a signalman living in one of the railway cottages.
