British Railways Standard Class 9 2-10-0 No 92218 is seen passing over Rowington troughs with an up through freight on 28th March 1964. The head code of one lamp on the top of the smokebox and one in the centre of the buffer beam indicates that under the BR revised 1964 train reporting codes it is a Type 8 working which is 'Through freight train NOT fitted with the automatic brake. Maximum speed 35 mph. Where fitted vehicles are required to be placed next to the engine and coupled up, this will be shewn in the appropriate regional train loading instructions'. The locomotive was built at Swindon in the last week of January 1960 when it was allocated to 82B St Philips Marsh shed and remained in service until January 1968 when it was withdrawn from 8C Speak Junction shed to be scrapped by Arnott Young of Parkgate.
