GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

View of the original signal box shortly before its demolition with the old goods shed and yard behind. The goods shed has small velox type windows with a ventilator fitted to the roof. The lampposts originally provided were most ornate as can be seen by the example adjacent to the signal box. The brick-built structure has a toilet by the door to the box but unusually has a canopy in front of the 'privy' door. The gap in the platform fascia was provided to allow access to the signal box for the wires and rodding which controlled both signals and pointwork circa 1932.
