GWR Route: The North Warwickshire Line
GWR Route: Stratford Upon Avon to Hatton
Stratford on Avon Station: gwrsa498
An external view of Stratford on Avon station in the early
days of its ownership by British Railways with a Morris Van parked outside. The
signs on the outside are still in the Great Western Railway's house style which
was retained until 1954 when British Railway's own corporate branding was
adopted. The station building is the original 1864 structure although the
canopy and roof was erected in 1909 when the station was remodelled as part of
the upgrading of the single branch lines, to Honeybourne to the South and
Bearley to the North, as part of the Great Western's West of England route.
