GWR 4-4-0 County class No 3816 'County of Leicester' is seen on an up express to Birmingham as it passes under Haslucks Green bridge

GWR 4-4-0 County class No 3816 'County of Leicester' is seen on an up express to Birmingham as it passes under Haslucks Green bridge shortly before being withdrawn. The locomotive is passing over the crossover from the up to the down line and has just passed the refuge siding that existed off the up line located the other side of the road bridge. Built at Swindon works in December 1906 No 3816 had at one time been paired with the tender of the GWR's only pacific locomotive, the 'Great Bear'. Remaining in service until September 1931, No 3816 was withdrawn from Swindon shed to be scrapped at Swindon works.
