Spring Road Platform: gwrsr292b

Close up of image 'gwrsr292' showing the basic waiting room found on the down platform constructed from the same corrugated cladding materials used on the up platform building. There was no footbridge or barrow crossing at Spring Road with platform access being via the sloping paths either side of the road bridge. By this time the original oil lamps had been replaced. The area around Spring Road was rapidly developing at the turn of the century with new factories and terraces of houses. One of the largest factories here belonged to Joseph Lucas.
