GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton

Looking south from the Birmingham end of Southam and Harbury station. The platform structure on the up platform accommodated both waiting rooms and toilets for passengers. The two chimneys bear testament to the level of comfort offered passengers in the early days of railways compared to today when no such comfort would be provided. The crossover from the down to the up accommodated trains arriving or departing from the goods yard which was located to the right of this photograph.
