Great Western Railway 0-6-0PT 2021 class No 2104 in Tyseley Roundhouse on Sunday 13th October 1935. Locomotive No 2104 was built as a 2101 class inside cylinder saddle tank in March 1902 at Stafford Road Works near Wolverhampton as part of lot K3. Under the saddle tank the locomotive had a domeless boiler with a raised Belpaire firebox. The boiler pressure was 165 lb providing a tractive effort, at 85% of 18,515 lb. In July 1927 No 2104 was converted to a pannier tank. This arrangement had a lower centre of gravity than a saddle tank, which increased stability allowing great speeds. Several of these locomotives were fitted with auto-gear to allow them to work the push-pull autocar-services. No 2104 was one of thirty-eight locomotives to retain a domeless boiler when converted, but in November 1937 a boiler with a dome towards the rear was eventually fitted. The pannier tanks held 900 gallons of water and an enlargement to the bunker allowed 35 cwt of coal to be stored.

No 2104 was originally allocated to Shrewsbury Shed (SLP), but in January 1921 was known to have been allocated to Stafford Road Shed (SRD) near Wolverhampton and in January 1934 at Stourbridge Junction Shed (STB). No 2104 was known to have been allocated to Birkenhead Shed (BHD) in January 1938 and prior to nationalisation in December 1947. The locomotive was also withdrawn from there in May 1951.
