GWR 2-6-2T No 8104, a class 81xx 'Large Prairie' locomotive is seen in steam waiting its turn to be coaled at Tyseley' coaling two-road station circa 1939. Built at Swindon works as No 5124 to Lot 320 No 8104 was subsequently modified from the 51xx series and rebuilt into the 81xx class and were fitted with the Standard number 2 boiler, but working at 225 p.s.i. and coupled wheels of 5 feet 6 inches diameter. Following twenty-five years of service No 8104 was withdrawn in December 1964 from Worcester shed and was finally scrapped in April 1965 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
