Tyseley Shed: gwrt337
GWR 4-4-0 Dukedog class No 3203, a straight outside-framed
locomotive, is seen standing in line coaled and serviced one Winter's Sunday at
Tyseley circa 1939. Built at Swindon works in July 1936, No 3203 was the fourth
Dukedog class built a class that were essentially rebuilds using 'Bulldog'
frames married with 'Duke' boilers. Initially named 'Earl Cawder' when built
this was removed in June 1937 and other than being renumbered 9003 by in 1946
it remained in service as built until October 1955 when it was withdrawn from
Machynlleth shed to be scrapped at Swindon works.
