The Lakes Halt: gwrtl509

Close up of image 'gwrtl509' showing the two simple timber-framed and clad passenger waiting room on each of The Lakes' short platforms. Both structures were the same as the platform buildings provided at Whitlocks End Halt being built at the same time. The short canopy was an extension of the roof and sloped front to back with a short overhang at the rear to drain away the rainwater as no guttering was provided. The path from Malthouse Lane to the nearest platform has been provided with a replacement safety metal handrail supported by concrete posts whereas opposite the original timber rail and post handrail still exists.
