Ex-GWR 81xx Class 2-6-2T No 8109 passes Warwick Cape Yard with a down Class B passenger service in May 1955. A Class B working in 1955 denoted an 'Ordinary Passenger train or breakdown van train not going to clear the line; branch passenger train or mixed train; rail motor train, loaded or empty; ordinary passenger or parcels diesel car.' Although only ten of the class were built Leamington were allocated two members of the class, No 8100 and 8109, on their introduction in 1938 and 1939 respectively. Built at Swindon works to Lot 320 in November 1939 No 8109 remained in service until June 1965 when it was withdrawn from 2A Tyseley shed to be scrapped by Birds of Long Marston.
