A 1916 Ordnance Survey Map showing the access to and configuration of Yardley Wood Platform. Adjacent to the station fronting on to Highfield Road were a pair of semi-detached houses provided for two of the three station staff. It wasn't unknown for the railway to insist that employees resident in their properties to accommodate other members of staff as lodgers.
