Adderley Park Station: lnwr_add1483
Looking towards Coventry with the station just beyond
Bordesley Green Road with the up platform on the left and the access siding to
the extensive yard on the right. The signal cabin, which controlled the lines
through the station as well as access to the sidings on both sides of the
tracks, is seen at the far end of the down platform. The two signal arms are
repeaters with the principle signals being at the top of the tall post to aid
sighting above the bridge for express workings. The use of repeaters were
common not least to aid locomotive crews in bad or foggy weather when the arms
at the top would be obscured.
