View looking towards Rugby showing the down island platform shelter with the up platform nearest the camera. Passenger facilities were provided on a scale in accordance to the need. Therefore a shelter of the down platform indicates that local passenger traffic was much heavier going north to Nuneaton than south to Rugby. Note the steps from the platform to the track to the side of the steps to the station. These would have been used by station staff needing to cross to the goods yard - much quicker route than walking down to the entrance via Lutterworth Road.
