LMS 3F 0-6-0T No 7365 stands in steam above the service pits in front of the shed on 24th August 1935

LMS 3F 0-6-0T No 7365 stands in steam above the service pits in front of the shed on 24th August 1935. Originally built as LMS No 16448 by the North British Locomotive Company in July 1926 No 7365 was to remain in service until December 1964 when it was withdrawn from Patricroft shed to be scrapped. When new, this locomotive class were numbered from No 7100 to No 7149 and from No 16400 to No 16764. When the LMS absorbed the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway locomotives in 1930 No 7150 to No 7156 were added to the series. In the 1934 LMS renumbering scheme, the locomotives were assigned the series No 7260 7681. The first withdrawals started in 1959 and by 1964 half had been withdrawn. The final five survived until 1967, with a further one, 47445 continuing with the National Coal Board. Due to their large numbers, late withdrawals and renowned performances, nine of these engines plus a spare set of frames and a boiler from 47564 have been preserved.
