Ex-MR 2F 0-6-0 No 22904 having been fully coaled and watered poses in front of the shed on 24th August 1935. For some reason the locomotive has had a new number 4 painted on its cabside. At the time this photograph was taken the locomotive was already sixty years old having been built by Kitson & Co in April 1875 but still had incredible further twenty-one years left in service. As British Railways No 58117, No 22904 was finally withdrawn in March 1956 from Monument Lane shed to be scrapped shortly afterwards.
