A side view of one of the coaches being manoeuvered up the bank by the locomotive pulling the coach with a steel hawser. The sharp curve of the rails is evident as is the shallow cutting dug to lessen the angle between the side of the embankment and the top. The 'banksman' directing the locomotive to reverse would have been at serious of being hurt if the steel hawser has snapped as it would have whipped towards the locomotive.
