Ex-LNER 4-6-0 'B1' No 61325 and ex-LMS 5P4F 2-6-0 'Crab' No 2758 are seen from Platform 10 at the West End of New Street station during April 1949. The B1 was allocated to Immingham shed at the time and is thought to have worked in to New Street with a morning service from Cleethorpes. From the amount of coal in the tender its obvious that No 61325 has subsequently been serviced at Saltley or Bournville shed ready to work a service back to the Eastern Region although why it has not been turned is unknown. Built by the North British Loco Company in June 1948 No 61325 was to remain in service until September 1963 when it was withdrawn from Immingham shed to be officially scrapped in February 1964 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge after being stored at the shed since November 1961. Hughes 'Crab' No 2758 was built at Crewe works in August 1927 and remained in service until November 1963 when it was withdrawn from Gorton shed to be scrapped in July 1964 by TW Ward Ltd of Broughton Lane in Sheffield.
