Ex-LMS 5XP 4-6-0 Jubilee class No 45741 'Leinster' is seen smothered in steam on a wet and foggy Spring day as it heads the 10 20am up express service to Euston out of Platform 3 on 19th March 1954. Built at Crewe works in December 1936 No 45741 was to remain in service until February 1964 when it was withdrawn from Kingmoor shed in Carlisle to be scrapped in April 1964 by Crewe works.
