Birmingham New Street Station: lnwrbns_str1853

Looking towards the Market Hall along Station Street now with a cobbled surface and electrified tram lines and new buildings in filling the gaps. The trams still travel on a single track in one direction from Dudley Street and along Station Street although a passing loop has been installed alongside the station. Hill Street however had by this date been upgraded with tram lines to allow travel in both directions. The gate post on the left has been protected by the addition of a bollard whilst the brick panel next to the post has been utilised by the railway for advertising purposes, in this instance for Whitbread Extra Stout.
