Birmingham New Street Station: lnwrbns_str393

An elevated view of both sides of New Street station looking East down Queens Drive with the LNWR portion on the left and the Midland portion on the right

An elevated view of both sides of New Street station looking East down Queens Drive with the LNWR portion on the left and the Midland portion on the right. On the extreme left of the photograph are two trams which are standing side by side at the terminus of the tram route with no trams progressing further towards Stephenson Street or New Street on the left. Two sets of tram lines ran from left to right along Navigation Street, with a scissors crossing just in front of the terminus, with a further pair of tram lines continuing down Hill Street with just one tram line passing down John Bright Street which was located between these two streets (on the other side of the Courage owned public house seen on the right). The two trams seen in the foreground on the right are standing in a passing loop adjacent to the two sets of tram lines and next to covered tram stops.
