LMS Route: Rugby to Market Harborough

Clifton Mill Station: lnwrclift2349

A pair of ex-LMS 4-6-0 'Black 5s', No 5419 and No 5430, pass Clifton Mill station on an up express in 1947. Both locomotives were built by the Armstrong Whitworth Company, No 5419 in October 1937 and classmate No 5430 in November 1937 with both locomotives lasting in service until September 1966, when No 5419 was withdrawn from 6A Chester shed and No 5430 from 6D Shrewsbury shed.
