Ex-MR 4-4-0 Class 483 No 408 stands at Clifton Mill station in mid-1930s whilst the driver appears to filling his billycan with water. Built by Derby works in December 1896, this Johnson designed locomotive was to remain in service until August 1949 when it was withdrawn from 7A Llandudno Junction shed. It was given a new running number by British Railways, No 40483, but the locomotive was withdrawn before it was applied.
