Schematic diagram showing the layout of Three Spires Junction with exchange sidings on the Nuneaton down line and the Loop Line off the up line. Two sidings were set aside to accommodate crippled wagons whilst the main sidings were shunted by using the hump to allow wagons to roll to their designated place. The sidings could handle 510 wagons, locomotives marshalling wagons in the latter using the head shunt which ran parallel with the branch to Newdigate Colliery, the nest of sidings on the colliery branch, that were used by BR latterly were originally the Warwickshire Coal Company sidings.
