Close up showing the parcels siding including the wagon turntable installed on the right hand siding

This close up of image 'lnwrcov1282a' shows the parcels siding including the wagon turntable installed on the right hand siding. The depth of the recess and the substantial retaining walls employed would suggest that this was used to transfer road carriages from railway flat trucks. Just visible to the right of the wagon turntable is an original model of lamppost indicating that the facility was provided at least ten years or more previously. The dark shape of an angled bar seen inside the wall of theturntable is possibly a lever used to lock the turntable to allow wagons to exit the siding. The pathway behind is not paved so would appear to be a short cut used by passengers and staff from the original station building on Warwick Road.
