Coventry Station - BR Locomotives: lnwrcov238

Ex-LNER 2-6-2 V2 No 60963 is seen arriving at Coventry station's new platform two with an up Cathedral special. The benefit of having a wider bridge, allowing the station to extend towards Birmingham, can clearly be seen in this view. Built at Darlington works in January 1943 as LNER No 3675 it was assigned the LNER No 963 as part of the 1946 renumbering scheme but never carried the number and remained in service until June 1965 when it was withdrawn from York shed to be cut up by J Cashmore of Great Bridge in November 1965.
