Ex-LNWR G2 Class 0-8-0 No 49425 stands inside Coventry shed's 'Coal Hole' being serviced in 1953. On the left are six-plank wagons carrying the shed's loco coal and from which the tenders and bunkers of the shed's locomotives would coaled. Built by Crewe as LNWR No 134 in July 1922, the locomotive was renumbered as No 9425 by the LMS in August 1927 and again as No 49425 by British Railways in October 1948 which it carried until September 1962 when it was withdrawn from 9D Buxton shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore's of Great Bridge.
