On the right is a British Thomson-Houston Co Ltd van whose local offices were based in Alma Street, Coventry. BTH, best known locally for its Rugby works, was a British engineering and heavy industrial company specialising in electrical systems and steam turbines. It was majority owned by and had the use of the patents of General Electric Co of the USA and access to that company's experience, modifying the designs to suit the British and Colonial markets.
