British Railways built Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T No 41322 is seen in 'push' mode at the rear of a two-coach motor-fitted train to Nuneaton. Motor fitted trains allowed the locomotive to be permanently placed at one end of the coaching stock which saved time and resources related to turning the locomotives for the return journey. The driver would be located in the driver trailer, a specially designed coach at the opposite end to the locomotive, and would operate the train by a combination of mechanical and vacuum operated equipment. Built at Derby in 1952, No 41322 remained in service until June 1964 when it was withdrawn from Exmouth Junction shed to be scrapped in December 1964 by G Cohen of Morriston near Swansea.
