A view looking towards the buffer stops of the former GJR arrival platform now converted to handling fruit. The end wall was part of the screen wall erected by the Grand Junction Railway (GJR) and as illustrated by the last roof truss, runs at an acute angle to the platform. Richard Foster states that in GJR days another line ran parallel on the right of the siding where the vans are stabled. Richard further informs us that on the right behind the columns are the original station's waiting rooms and offices. He continues 'the roof was predominantly (built) of wood, in contrast with the L & B roof which had an iron structure.
